Tennis Clubs Caliente Springs, 2009 Update

This was the season of lots of participation. The favorable weather brought out the players and the courts were as busy as I have ever seen them. Lots of players returned to Caliente Springs along with a number of new players. Our group grew from the high 50’s to the mid 70’s.

As usual, our season culminated with a mixed, men’s and woman’s doubles tournament, with good participation. The support of players on the court by those who were not playing was terrific. We often had two to three times the number of participating, watching and cheering the points being played.

As in the past, the get-together for presentation of awards recognition was well attended. One pair wrote a song about tennis at Caliente, and with their guitars, sang it for us! An interesting and pleasant offshoot of tennis this year was the area we started referring to as “tennis row”.

At one time, we had three other rigs utilizing three of the four spaces next to ours. We all found it enjoyable to have kindred souls so close together.
